5 cool new features & updates of iOS 10
IPhone developers in Dubai, like the rest of the world, are quite excited about the release of Apple’s iOS 10 and 10.1 updates for the iPhone and iPad. The new version transformed the overall user experience and so far, living quite up to the milestone. It’s different in such a way that you won’t even recognize some portions of the interface but no need to fret as you can easily familiarize yourself with the OS simply by reading the details below.
Technically known as the iOS 10.02, developers at Apple managed to fix a handful of bugs previously found in iOS 10 and with it come the 10.1 beta version that you can easily download. The OS with all crucial updates is 2GB and best for iPhone 7 plus.
The updated version of the software works perfectly with iPad 3, iPhone 5, iPad mini 2 and iPod touch (a sixth generation or higher). Apple draws the line this year as the new mobile operating system won’t support iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and age-old devices that still uses the 30-pin dock connector.
- Device wakes just on the rise
The lock screen of both the iPad and iPhone has been redesigned and is deemed as the biggest change in nine years; that’s when we saw the first iPhone. The typical “Slide to Unlock” is replaced by “Press Home to Open” and another best feature that makes the device really smart is the ability of the phone to self-wake just by raising it.
That’s not all; you won’t be bombed with sudden notifications upon hitting the fast Touch ID home tab. This is an excellent modification we’ve already seen on selectedAndroid devices such as the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P.
- Rich notifications
All notifications are broken and appear as bubble whereas the 3D Touch shows hidden action menus so all you need is to press a little harder on an icon and choose the desired action. Such as, keep the calendar invite pressed and you’ll be able to accept or decline it without actually opening the app.
It works even better for Messages and you can promptly respond to text and other messages simply by picking up the phone; all of this without leaving the lock screen. You’re saved from sifting through the home screen and a huge list of menus to check for important updates. Take for instance the doorbell camera notification, you can actually see who’s standing at the front door, function the intercom and even unlock the door without moving a muscle.
- The “Clear all” notification button
iPhone developers in Dubai and around the world are calling this the best update so far. The ability to clear all the old notifications that been bugging you for so longs with a simple 3D Touch is definitely a dream come true. Swiping them one after another or dismissing them in groups was quite time-consuming in previous iOS 9.
Just keep the “x” icon pressed a little bit hard within the modified dropdown menu and hit the “clean all” box that pops up. Just tap it once to dismiss that pool of notifications. It’s all too easy clearing the expired alerts with iOS 10notification-clearing OCD.
- Water detection
While iPhone 7 and 7 plus are water-resistant to some extent, Apple hasn’t yet come up with a completely waterproof iPhone. It’s easier to avoid water damage with the new iOS 10 as it’ll eventually alert you.
With so many cool features, it’s about time you download the new iOS 10and optimize user experience like never before.
