Four Amazing Water Rides and Slides

There is nothing more exhilarating than spending a hot summers day at a water park filled with a wide selection of fast and furious rides and slides – with the exception of an array of tamer rides for the smaller members of the family, of course.

No matter where you choose to go for your next family vacation, if the country has a warm climate there is a very good chance there will be a water park somewhere in the vicinity.

If you are jetting off to a warm and welcoming country this year, make sure you set aside a day or two to visit one of these four amazing water parks while you are there and try out these four amazing water slides and rides:

Build-a-Raft-River – LEGOLAND® DUBAI, Dubai

LEGOLAND® DUBAI is a Dubai water park home to numerous rides and slide. However, one of the most popular is Build-a-Raft River.

This amazingly creative ride is suitable for the whole family, and includes grabbing a see-through tube and setting sail around a lazy river while grabbing floating pieces of larger-than-life LEGO® the whole way around.

Who can build the biggest and coolest LEGO® raft? You will have to find out! Challenge your friends and family while on the unique ride – you have 1000-feet of lazy river to create and build your very own floating vessel with hundreds of colourful LEGO® bricks at your disposal. Ready, set, build!

Temple of Courage – Valley of the Wave at Sun City, South Africa

Consisting of a 17-metre drop down a whopping 70-metre water slide, the Temple of Courage will give you an exhilarating adrenaline rush you will want to experience again and again.

Once you climbed the steps to the top, join the queue and finally take a seat teetering over the edge, you might think twice about taking the plunge, however, there is no going back!

The slide takes you hurtling under a bridge before finally ending up in a small pool of water where you can catch your breath and come to terms with the fact you actually conquered one of the most terrifying drops around.

Crush ‘n’ Gusher – Typhoon Lagoon, Orlando

Crush ‘n’ Gusher is a multi-passenger water slide that is more like a roller-coaster but on water, and is one of Typhoon Lagoon’s signature attractions.

A water-coaster that takes you on a journey through an abandoned fruit-processing plant on a 400-foot-long tube slide, the Crush ‘n’ Gusher has three “fruit chutes” to choose from – the Pineapple Plunger, Coconut Crusher or Banana Blaster”.

Throughout the ride you will defy gravity as you are propelled forward by powerful jets of water, encounter a few uphill climbs, catch some air when you suddenly take a dip, go through both dark and completely open tunnels, and be caught off-guard by a surprise or two along the way!

Waimea Whirl – Wet ‘n’ Wild, Hawaii

The newest addition to Wet ‘n’ Wild in Hawaii, Waimea Whirl is a colourful tube slide that will have your head spinning by the time you reach the end.

Once seated comfortably in your tube, you and a friend or family member will slide down a colourful tube that then drops you into a bowl where you will be glued to the walls for a few seconds spinning around and around.

Once gravity kicks in, however, you will then be funnelled into a drain that consists of a long slide that will have you end up in a cool splash pool. Sounds like a whole lot of fun to me!

Let your hair down and enjoy some good old fashion fun at one of the above mentioned water parks, your family or friends are sure to a have a smile on their face from ear-to-ear all day long and make some memories they will never forget!
